GovBid tracks government tenders from two primary federal procurement portals: CanadaBuys (the Government of Canada's procurement platform) and SAM.gov (the US federal government's System for Award Management). New tenders are ingested daily and classified across 37 industry categories using AI.

These statistics reflect currently open tenders only — contracts that are accepting bids. Closed and awarded contracts are tracked separately. The data updates every 6 hours to reflect new postings and closing deadlines.

Small businesses can use these trends to identify which sectors have the most government contract activity and where opportunities are growing. Industries with high tender volumes often indicate ongoing government investment and recurring procurement needs.
