ZEISS® FORUM IMAGE DIGITIZATION SYSTEM: OPHTHALMIC 2 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Introduction: This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued for conducting market research. This RFI constitutes neither a Request for Quote (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), nor a guarantee that one will be issued by the Government in the future; furthermore, it does not commit the Government to a contract for any services described herein. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is not, at this time, seeking proposals or quotes, and therefore, will not accept, review, or evaluate unsolicited proposals or quotes received in response hereto. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted because of this request. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred for responses to this RFI. The information provided may be used by VA in developing its acquisition strategy and Performance Work Statement (PWS) or Product Description (PD). Any information submitted by respondents to this RFI is strictly voluntary; however, any information received shall become the property of the Government and will not be returned to the respondent. Interested parties re responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted, or competition sensitive information contained in their response. This is a request for information and does not obligate the Government in any way, nor does it commit the Government to any specific course of action. Product information, brochures, part numbers, and/or other description information may be included with the submission. Requirements: The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requires the Zeiss® FORUM Image Digitization System: Ophthalmic, a brand name image digitization and management platform used to acquire, digitize, store, view, and print ophthalmic images. The system will support clinicians across VA medical centers and facilities in managing images produced by fundus cameras, fluorescein angiography devices, and other ophthalmic imaging instruments. Quantity will be specified in the solicitation s line-item schedule. Zeiss® FORUM Image Digitization System: Ophthalmic is designed to acquire and digitize ophthalmic (e.g., fundus camera, fluorescing angiography) images for viewing, storage, and/or printing. The imaging system typically consists of a digital camera, usually in the form of a microchip (a charge-coupled device [CCD]); digital processors for image enhancement; electronic recorder storage (e.g., CD-ROM); and printers. Ophthalmic digitization systems are intended mainly to obtain images taken from fundus and fluorescing angiography cameras. The period of performance is comprised of a 12-month base period, four 12-month options periods. The option periods are required for continued support services. This requirement will be solicited and awarded IAW (FAR) 6.103-1, Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, Application for Brand-Name Descriptions. The ZEISS FORUM ophthalmic image digitization system is a software-based data management solution that runs on standard PC or Mac hardware; its key technical parameters are defined as minimum hardware and software requirements rather than as a single fixed device configuration.
