Summary

Department of National Defence (DND) is seeking Twin Agent Unit Fire Fighting System for the River Class Destroyer. The Twin Agent Unit (TAU) is a dual-agent firefighting system designed for aviation rescue and recovery operations. Closing date: May 30, 2026.

Full Description

The Twin Agent Unit (TAU) is a dual-agent firefighting system designed for aviation rescue and recovery operations. It combines Purple-K dry chemical with a non-fluorinated foam (F3) to replace legacy AFFF, delivered through a dual hose and nozzle system. The TAU must be a fully self-contained standalone system that does not rely on ship’s services for operation and must be capable of supporting the simultaneous discharge of both agents by a single operator. It is to be equipped with two independent hose reel stations, one located forward in the hangar and one aft below the flight deck, and it must be sized and configured to operate within RCD design constraints while meeting all performance thresholds.
