Signal Generator Waveforms

The Certification and Engineering Bureau (CEB) needs to upgrade its SMW200A signal generator with additional waveforms—LoRa, Bluetooth, 802.15.4, and 802.11be—to support evolving digital modulation formats. By enabling testing across new radio frequency technologies, the upgrade helps ensure wireless devices meet regulatory requirements, avoid harmful interference, support fair competition in the marketplace, and remain safe for Canadian consumers. This upgrade will enhance the CEB’s ability to perform market surveillance of wireless products sold in Canada, conduct advanced engineering studies on emerging technologies, and contribute to regulatory standards development.
