Summary
National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is seeking Zero Clearance Dies. The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) requires the supply of four (4) precision zero-clearance cutting dies designed for use in lithium-ion battery electrode fabrication. Location: QC. Closing date: May 26, 2026.
Full Description
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) requires the supply of four (4) precision zero-clearance cutting dies designed for use in lithium-ion battery electrode fabrication. These dies are essential to achieve high-quality cutting performance characterized by clean, burr-free edges and minimal debris generation. Zero-clearance die technology minimizes the gap between cut electrodes, thereby reducing material waste and improving dimensional accuracy.
Compared to conventional steel-rule dies currently in use by NRC’s CleanEnergy Innovation (CEI) group, zero-clearance dies provide significantly
enhanced tool life, cutting precision, and production efficiency. The new dies wil lbe installed on NRC’s existing electrode punching machine (model EPM280)
located at the Boucherville site to support ongoing research and development in advanced battery manufacturing.
