Contracting Officer CONTINUATION PAGE Q1. There is a discrepancy in the SOW. On page 5 of the Solicitation, under New Light Pole concrete base, paragraph 1, it states that a 3/4 thick grounding rod is to be used. On page 6 of the Solicitation, under Material Components, paragraph 5, it states that a 5/8 thick grounding rod to be used. What is the size that you are asking to be used?
A1. Answer: 5/8 thick grounding rod, as stated in the Material Components section, is the correct size.
Q2. On light pole 1-10 there is an additional box attached to it. What s in the box and does it require special treatment? A2. Answer: The box contains chains to barricade the adjacent road if needed. No electricity in the box. Paint as needed. Q3. The Overview, paragraph 2, of the SOW states that there are approximately 31 light poles that require paint repair, not entire repaint. There are 26 poles that have the bases being replaced that are identified. Please confirm that those same 26 are the ones that require paint repair and identify the five (5) additional poles require this paint. A3. Answer: For the 26 poles receiving new concrete bases; re-paint/rust repair treatment shall be required for the entire pole (including its breakaway base), and re-stencil with its corresponding pole ID number. For the other 17 poles, affected by this project, but not receiving a new concrete base, they will be required to receive re-paint/rust repair treatment
